Woman dies after incident on key A-road

A woman has died after a collision on a key A-road connecting Bristol and Bath.

Avon and Somerset Police said the woman, in her 50s, died in the incident on the A4 Keynsham Bypass at about 09:30 BST.

The route was closed in both directions between Hicks Gate and Bath Road roundabout for much for the day. The Bristol-bound carriageway has since reopened.

There are still long delays in the area, with police advising motorists to find alternative routes.
