A new pool was due to be built in Peterborough by 2028

People have been invited to have their say on plans for a new swimming pool.

Peterborough City Council has asked for input on the design and features of the new facility, which is due to open by 2028, at a location yet to be announced.

It would replace the demolished Regional Pool on Bishop's Road, which closed after the authority said it would cost £26m to repair structural issues.

A drop-in session is running from 15:00 until 19:00 GMT on Monday at Sand Martin House on Bittern Way, while an online feedback survey will close on Sunday.

The council said the new building would include an eight-lane 25m (82ft) pool and a 20m (66ft) teaching pool.

It would also feature poolside and balcony seating, a cafe, soft play area, and a fitness suite with 150 stations and studios.

The council secured £20m towards the £36.5m cost from central government's growth mission fund in November.

A further round of public consultation would run in the summer ahead of a planning application being submitted, the authority said.
