A woman has admitted causing the death of a mobility scooter rider after a collision in Grantham.

Ann Fletcher, 85, of Hallfield Crescent, Honington, in Lincolnshire, pleaded guilty earlier to causing the death of Mark Jackson, 61, by careless driving.

Lincoln Crown Court heard Jackson died after a collision on Broad Street on 14 August 2024, in which Fletcher was driving.

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight adjourned sentencing until 26 June.

Sjolin Knight told Fletcher she was making "no promises" with regard to sentence and imposed an interim driving disqualification on her.

Fletcher was granted unconditional bail until her next court appearance.

Following his death, the family of Jackson, who had both legs amputated in 2023, paid tribute to their loved one.

They said he was a "loving father" to four children, with a love of travel, botany and birds.
