St Patrick's Day sailings between Douglas and Dublin cancelled

Sailings between the Isle of Man and Dublin for St Patrick's Day have been scrapped due to strong winds.

Both the 06:00 GMT Manannan sailing due to arrive in Dublin at 08:55, and the 15:30 Wednesday return scheduled to get into Douglas at 18:25, have been cancelled.

The next ferry crossing between the island and Dublin will be in May, but from the beginning of April, regular Steam Packet sailings are set to start to Larne in Northern Ireland.

On Tuesday, a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping is in place until 12:30 GMT.

Areas most likely to be affected include Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown and Douglas Promenade, and to a lesser extent Laxey Promenade.

CORRECTION - 17 March 2026: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Larne was in the Republic of Ireland rather than Northern Ireland.
