'Unstoppable' hit and run victim in half marathon
Gemma HunterA woman is attempting her personal best at a half marathon two years after a hit-and-run incident, which left her in hospital with serious injuries.
Gemma Hunter was training for an ultra marathon when she was hit in August 2024, she suffered a fractured and dislocated vertebra and a bleed on the brain - no one was arrested or came forward to admit responsibility.
Her husband Fraser Hunter said her willpower to keep on running "is unstoppable" after taking on various running events whilst in recovery.
Despite her injuries Hunter says she has always been "determined" when it comes to running and is excited to take part in the race at Bath on Sunday.

Gemma HunterHunter had just moved from Wiltshire to Cardiff when the accident happened.
"A local resident found me stumbling down the road," she said.
"I can see from my watch data I was stationary for around 10 minutes. I can see from phone records on my phone that I called for an ambulance."
When the ambulance arrived the paramedics helped her call her husband.
"All I said to him was, I don't know where I am, I don't know what's happened,"she explained.
Gemma HunterWhen she reached the hospital one of her first questions was when she could start running again.
"I'm pretty determined.
"Running was my time to be away from everything," she said.
Her husband said he "didn't know whether her running days were over"
"The fact that she lay in a neck brace planning her return was an inspiration," he said.
Gemma HunterLast year she took part in several running events, including the 220km (136.7 mile) Ultra X Jordan Race, helping to build up her physical and mental confidence.
