Police are appealing for information after a robbery "in broad daylight" at a petrol station in Leicestershire.

Officers were called to a report that a cashier had been threatened and money taken from the site between Saffron Lane and Saffron Road, South Wigston, just before 15:30 BST on Monday.

The cashier, a woman in her 20s, was not injured during the incident and police said the suspect left the scene on an e-scooter before officers arrived.

Police are still trying to establish whether a weapon was used and are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
