Inverness primary school evacuated after pipe bursts

An Inverness primary school was evacuated following the discovery of a burst pipe in the main corridor.

Merkinch Primary School, which has about 230 pupils, was forced to close early giving the children a surprise early start to their weekend.

In a post on social media, the school said it had been forced to evacuate the building.

Highland Council said the site would reopen on Monday as normal.
