Overturned milk tanker shuts A35 near Bere Regis

A stretch of a major route through Dorset has been closed both ways after a milk tanker overturned in the early hours.

The vehicle was travelling on the A35 near Bere Regis when it left the carriageway shortly before 02:00 GMT and ended up in a field.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said the tanker was intact and nothing had leaked.

The road is closed from Poole Hill through to Sugar Hill at Lower Woodbury with drivers urged to use alternative routes. Dorset Police said no injuries had been reported and no arrests made.
