Boy, 13, suffers serious injury in hit-and-run

A 13-year-old boy is in hospital with a serious leg injury after being hit by a vehicle as he crossed the road.

The driver failed to stop at the scene, in London Road near the junction of Station Road, Hurst Green, East Sussex, after striking the boy at about 17:30 GMT on Thursday.

Sussex Police said the vehicle was dark in colour and travelling north.

The force is appealing for witnesses and video footage.
