Unlicensed events cause issues with noise, traffic and anti-social behaviour, police say

Three men have been arrested and a van full of sound equipment has been seized by police after officers were called to an unlicensed music event.

Norfolk Police said an estimated 150 to 200 peopleand about 70 vehicleswere on the site near Grimes Graves in Lynford, near Thetford, in the early hours of Sunday.

On Monday, the force said three men in their 20s had been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, and one of the men was also arrested on suspicion of driving with excess drugs.

"Unlicensed music events are organised without permission and without proper safety measures in place," said Insp Matt Hendry.

"They create noise, traffic issues, and are anti-social for residents, which is why we will take robust action when they are identified," he said.

"Early intervention is key in disrupting these events and vigilance from the public and landowners is always much appreciated."

The force has urged anyone with information about an illegal rave or unlicensed music event, or any witnesses to suspicious activity on farmland or in buildings, to get in touch.
