Man in critical condition in hospital after crash
GoogleA man who reported a minor injury after being a passenger in a two-car crash is now in hospital in a critical condition.
Leicestershire Police said the crash, which involved an orange Ford Edge and a white BMW 5 Series, happened in Regs Way in Bardon Hill just before 13:35 GMT on 18 March.
At the time, the man, who had been a passenger in the BMW, reported an injury to his arm that did not require any medical treatment, police said.
However, in an appeal on Monday, the force said it had been recently informed the man had since been admitted to hospital and was in a critical condition.
The drivers of both cars were not injured, police added.
The driver of the Ford, a 47-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving at the time and was released under investigation pending further inquiries.
Det Sgt Kasie McMahon said the Ford had been travelling towards Beveridge Lane while the BMW had been travelling in the opposite direction.
She added: "We know the incident was a few weeks ago but we would urge anyone who was driving along Regs Way that afternoon to get in touch if they saw either vehicle or witnessed the collision.
"We would also urge people to check their dashcam equipment for any footage which may assist us."
