Nominations for Make A Difference Awards open
BBCBBC Radio Devon's Make a Difference Awards have opened for nominations.
The campaign celebrates people in the county who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others in their communities.
Volunteers, fundraisers, environmentalists and great neighbours will be honoured, alongside community groups making a positive impact locally.
In 2025, the Benita Project, a charity based in South Molton, won the Community Award.
"We're a free travelling pop-up cafe that offers community friendship meals," said co-founder Ioni Drake.
The organisation cooks in several communities across the county, as well as offering support with food and financial education.
"In 2024, we served 6,258 free meals to the communities," Drake said.
"We know what it feels like to be lonely, to see people without things, and we're in a position that we can help."
The Community Award is supported by BBC Morning Live.
It is one of eight categories of the Make a Difference Awards all recognising individuals and organisations making positive contributions to local life.
Previous group winners have included Shoalstone Pool, Bideford Boxing Club, Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support, The Pickwell Foundation and the Great Parks Community Association in Paignton.
Individuals have also been recognised for their work volunteering for local charities, fundraising for clubs and activities, caring for friends and neighbours, and for supporting groups which bring people together to make a difference locally.
Last year saw the first Young Hero Award for under 16s making a positive contribution to the community as well as the Active Award recognising community sports people and organisations.

Nominations close at 17:00 BST on 31 March.
