Trial set for man charged with terrorism offences

A man has been sent for trial at the Old Bailey, after pleading not guilty to terrorism offences.

Mohammed Alzawi, of Bedford Grove, Eastbourne, East Sussex, is accused of three counts of encouraging people to commit, prepare or instigate acts of terrorism.

The 35-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody.

He was arrested by counter-terror officers as part of an investigation into Islamist terrorism-related social media posts.
