Andrew Dill was reported missing in 2003 and this month, West Midlands Police have released an image of how he might look now.

A fresh appeal is being made by police, 23 years after a man went missing, to try and get his family "the answers they deserve".

Birmingham City fan Andrew Dill, 38, was last seen on 28 April 2003 when he was dropped off at Hednesford station in Staffordshire, to get home to Birmingham. He spoke to a friend on the phone the next day but nothing has been heard from him since.

His flat by the waterside in Birmingham city centre was searched, along with the nearby canal but West Midlands Police said nothing was found.

"We really want to find Andrew or find out what happened to him in late April and early May 2003 so his family can at last get the answers they deserve," said PC Rob Jones.

His friends and relatives tried to call Dill, who would be 61 now, several times in the days afterwards however detectives said their calls were declined.

His father reported him missing in May 2003 and, later that year, an appeal for information was put in the programme for a Birmingham City game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In 2023, Dill's mother, Maisie, made an appeal in which she said she "would just like to see him once more before I go".

"We have had so many family milestones and events that Andrew has missed and his absence is always in the back of our minds," she said.

Jones said Andrew Dill was "not the kind of person to just drop off the radar like this" and him going missing was "out of character".

"We're hoping someone who knew Andrew back in the early 2000s might remember something about him and his life which could help us piece together what happened to him," he added.

"We know he had a lot of friends and sometimes went by other names, including using the surname Dillon.

"If anyone remembers finding a Sky Blue Nokia 3310 with dark blue trim in the city centre in late April to early May 2003 we would be really keen to hear about this."
