Man released by police after woman found dead

A man has been released by police after a woman was found dead in a hotel near Gravesend.

Kent Police said they were called by South East Coast Ambulance Service to The Inn On The Lake, in Shorne, just before 12:00 GMT on 16 December.

"A woman in her 40s was confirmed deceased at the scene and a 49-year-old man, who was known to her, was arrested in connection with the incident," the force said.

"He has since been released without charge".

Kent Police said the death was being treated as "non-suspicious".

A report was being compiled for the coroner, it added.
