Consultation launched for 85 new homes
Getty ImagesPlans to build 85 new homes near to a train station in Codsall are under consultation.
Developer Richborough has earmarked land on Station Road, within the South Staffordshire Council's emerging local plan.
The site is currently within the greenbelt, but once the local plan has been examined and approved the land will be taken out of greenbelt designation.
The development is also set to include a 30 space car park for Codsall railway station, new footpaths and a zebra crossing to connect it to the development.
The plans show that the new homes will include a number of affordable houses and a mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom properties.
The development is planned to provide areas of public open space, as well as a children's play area.
Consultation documents published by Richborough state: "As part of our public consultation we are keen to hear thoughts on this level of development and the types of new homes that might be provided.
"As well as homes for sale on the open market, our proposals would also provide on-site affordable housing that meets the policy requirements of the District Council.
"Our development will not just be about housing though, and we are including new car parking exclusively for users of Codsall Railway Station and new publicly accessible green areas."
Residents have until 27 March to comment on the proposals.
