Murder suspects extradited to face trial in Poland
HandoutTwo men have been extradited from the UK to Poland to be tried for the alleged murder of a Polish national who disappeared more than four years ago.
Andrzej Mucha was 57 years old when he was reported missing in Slough, Berkshire, on 30 December 2021. His remains were found last month in a field in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.
Thames Valley Police initially investigated the disappearance as a missing‑person case, before launching a murder inquiry in April 2022.
In November 2025, the High Court approved the extradition of Adrian Pietraszewski, 28, and Tomasz Weiss, 36. Both men appealed, but the ruling was upheld and police confirmed they have both now been extradited.
The men had previously each been charged with preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice in 2023.
But later that year, a joint investigation agreement was signed in The Hague between Thames Valley Police, the Crown Prosecution Service and Polish prosecutors, enabling the countries to share evidence.
'Much loved'
Det Supt Kevin Brown, of Thames Valley Police, said: "With Polish law enforcement support, who gathered new and compelling evidence linking Adrian Pietraszewski and Tomasz Grzegorz Weiss to Andrzej's murder, we have worked tirelessly with the Crown Prosecution Service and Polish authorities to secure a landmark decision to discontinue legal proceedings in the UK and extradite the defendants to Poland to stand trial there.
"Our thoughts remain with Andrzej's family, who have shown great patience and confidence in the force and our partners."
In a tribute released via police, Mucha's family described him as a "much loved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather".
"The cruel way he was taken from our lives will never win over the love he had for each one of us," the tribute added.
"Andrzej was such a friendly person, each person he met would feel the care and love he felt for them, he'd pour his heart into each friendship.
"He was helpful, trustworthy and could make you laugh in a heartbeat."
