Section of beach area closed for sea wall repairs
BBCPart of the promenade at Aberdeen beach is expected to be shut for more than a month as sea wall repairs costing about £0.25m get under way.
The work includes repairs to reinforced concrete structural parts of the sea wall near the south end of the Queen's Links Leisure Park.
About 58m (190ft) of the lower esplanade will be closed to the public during the work.
Aberdeen City Council said the repairs were expected to take about five weeks. Similar work may follow at the beach.
Aberdeen City CouncilSigns will be in place at the nearest steps and ramps to the upper esplanade.
"It is expected that some of the works required will be progressed outwith normal working hours to allow access between tides," the council said.

"While some noise is expected, the contractor will aim to minimise any disruption and disturbance as far as reasonably possible.
"We apologise for any inconvenience."
The council told BBC Scotland News the repairs were being carried out at a cost of £246,000.
A spokesperson said the work would repair a localised area of the seawall which had been suffering ongoing deterioration, exacerbated by storms over the last few years.
"The work will include repairs to the reinforced concrete elements as well as replacement of the concrete blocks forming the top surface," they said.
"Similar works may be progressed in other sections of the seawall in this area in the future".
