A woman arrested after two women suffered cuts at a nursing home has been released on police bail.

The suspected attacks happened at Westacre Nursing Home - a private residential and nursing home that specialises in dementia care - on Sleepers Hill in Winchester on Monday shortly after 09:00 GMT.

One woman, 83, was found with cuts on her upper body and was treated by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital. A second woman, 79, was treated at the home for similar injuries, police said.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a 49-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder had been bailed with conditions until 23 May to allow for further inquiries to be carried out.
