IT system issues at hospital trust resolved
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS TrustIT problems that had affected access to a hospital trust's electronic patient record system in Birmingham have been fixed.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust confirmed the technical issue was "fully resolved" on Friday night, following several hours of disruption.
A resident doctor previously said patients' results could not be checked and further tests could not be ordered during the outage.
A spokesperson for the trust, which operates sites including Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, confirmed full system access had been restored and clinical teams had returned to normal working processes.
"The technical issue affecting access to our electronic patient record system has now been fully resolved," they added in a statement.
"Throughout the period of disruption, business continuity arrangements were in place and services continued to operate safely."
