Drivers on the M6 have been warned of overnight lane closures for the next three months.

National Highways said northbound lanes would close between junctions 41 and 42, south Carlisle, from 20:00 to 06:00 GMT from Monday until the end of April.

Work to resurface the road, which is taking place overnight from Sunday to Friday, will involve some lane closures. Traffic may also be directed over the junction 41 roundabout.

National Highways apologised to residents for any noise generated by the works.
