A 14-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by an e-scooter in Nottingham.

It happened in Lincoln Street in Old Basford at about 16:32 GMT on Monday.

Nottinghamshire Police said the rider - believed to be a man aged about 20 - initially stopped at the scene before leaving.

The boy's condition is serious but not believed to be life-threatening or altering, the force added.

Lincoln Street and David Lane were closed while investigations took place, as well as the entrance to the park on Lincoln Street, but they have since reopened.

Officers are continuing to investigate and urged anyone with any information to contact them.
