Manhole explosion forces road closures

A number of roads had to be closed in Dunfermline after a manhole cover was blown off by an explosion.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV, happened on Townhill Road.

Albany Street, Bellyeoman Road and Leys Park Road were also shut, but Albany Street has since reopened and residents have been allowed back into their properties.

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area and police and the fire service attended the scene.
