A feature-length Netflix documentary about killer nurse Lucy Letby will feature never-before-seen footage of the nurse during her arrest and questioning, it has been announced.

The film will include moments including her reaction as police arrive at her home and also interviews with the mother of one of her victims.

A trailer for The Investigation of Lucy Letby also includes police body-cam footage of her outside her front door tearfully telling her parents "don't look" as she is led to a police car.

Letby is serving a whole life terms for the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of seven others at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

Netflix said the programme will be available for streaming on 4 February.

The film will cover the intense media and social-media attention the neo-natal nurse's trial attracted, as well the doubt that has been cast over her conviction since.

It includes interviews with senior detectives at Cheshire Police, who can be heard in the trailer describing the investigation as a "once-in-a-generation type case".

It will feature Letby's barrister, Mark McDonald, who has submitted an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, asking for a fresh appeal against her conviction.

It also includes interviews from Dr Shoo Lee, a Canadian neonatologist who authored an academic paper used as evidence by the prosecution but who later said his work had been misinterpreted.

Dr Lee has since expressed his belief in Letby's innocence and chaired a panel of international experts who examined the case files and have argued that no babies were murdered.

On Tuesday it was confirmed Letby, originally from Hereford, will face no further charges over additional deaths and collapses of babies that were investigated by police.

Cheshire Police passed new evidence to prosecutors last year for consideration, linked to eight potential offences of attempted murder and one offence of murder at the Countess of Chester.

Another two allegations of attempted murder and murder were linked to one child at Liverpool Women's Hospital.

Lady Justice Thirlwall's public inquiry report into how Letby was able to commit her crimes is due to be published this year.
