The Hindhead Tunnel in Surrey has reopened northbound following an earlier crash involving two motorcyclists, National Highways has said.

The northbound road had been closed between the A283 (Milford) and the A333 (Hindhead), due to the crash first reported at about 15:10 BST.

At about 19:00, National Highways said there were minimal delays and about one mile of congestion on the approach.

The tunnel was also closed earlier in the day due to a vehicle fire at about 06:40, but reopened after "recovery and clear-up".

Two fire engines were sent to the earlier blaze by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, but firefighters left the scene at about 07:45. There were no reported injuries.
