Fire crews were sent to tackle a blaze at Brighton Marina earlier after a fire broke out on a boat.

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said it was called the fire at the West Jetty Marina, just before 04:00 GMT, and had four vehicles at the scene.

People living nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed, while others were asked to avoid the area to help keep the situation under control.

At 07:15 GMT, fire crews said they had left the scene after handing the situation back to marina staff. The cause of the fire was said to be accidental.
