A biker has been killed following a collision with a car during the early hours of the morning.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, died shortly after being taken to hospital following the collision in Watford Road, near Hunton Bridge in Kings Langley, at about 01:00 BST, Hertfordshire Police said.

The force has urged anyone who witnessed, or has relevant information or dashcam footage of the crash, between the red Triumph motorbike and a red Toyota Prius, to contact them.

Sgt Nicholas Kane, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family at this difficult time."

He added: "I am appealing to anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time and saw the events leading up to the collision to please get in touch."

Police said the Prius driver had been helping them with their investigation.
