Fatal crash appeal as 83-year-old victim named
Nottinghamshire PolicePolice have made a fresh appeal for witnesses after an 83-year-old man died following a crash.
David Colton died in hospital the day after a two-vehicle collision outside a golf club in Coxmoor Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 14:15 GMT on 19 February, Nottinghamshire Police said.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. An investigation is ongoing.
Detectives have spoken with several witnesses and would now like to speak with the driver of a dark five-door car who they believe may have valuable information about the crash.
Nottinghamshire PoliceDet Con Christopher Taylor said: "As we work to understand exactly what happened in the moments leading up to this collision, our thoughts remain with Mr Colton's family and friends.
"We have already spoken to several witnesses from the scene, and would now like to speak with the driver of the car captured in this CCTV image.
"We know they stopped briefly at the scene but left before a statement could be taken.
"If this is you then please reach out to us as soon as possible. You are not in any way a suspect, but we believe you may have valuable evidence that can assist with our investigation."
