Man charged with murder after chip shop attack

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 54-year-old man who was attacked in a fish and chip shop.

Jahfari Moore, 25, has been charged with murdering Carl Ennis, who was assaulted at The Village Chippy, off Leach Croft, Merseyside Police said.

The suspect was initially arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after the incident last Friday night and then re-arrested on suspicion of murder Tuesday.

Moore, of Marled Hey, Stockbridge Village, was kept in custody and was due to appear at South Sefton Magistrates' Court later on Thursday.

Det Ch Insp Cath Cummings said: "We are continuing to appeal for anyone who has yet to come forward about this incident to do so."
