Suffolk Police says a missing man who officers feared may have been badly injured has been found

A missing man who police believed had been seriously injured in a stabbing has come forward with injuries not as severe as first thought.

Suffolk Police was called at 17:00 GMT on Sunday to reports of a fight involving several people at a property in Piper's Close, Haverhill.

One man was taken to hospital for treatment, before being discharged, but a second man reported to have suffered stab wounds could not be found.

The force feared he may have needed urgent medical attention but yesterday he presented himself to police with injuries "determined not to be serious".

Since the incident, four people have been arrested.

Three people have been bailed while a 53-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, remains in police custody.

"Officers understand that the parties involved are known to each other and so do not believe there is any threat to the wider community," a spokesperson said.
