M1 closed for emergency resurfacing

A section of the M1was closed for emergency resurfacing works in Bedfordshire.

Three of four lanes were closed southbound between junction 13 for Brogborough, near Milton Keynes, and junction 12 for Toddington.

Drivers faced six miles of congestion causing delays of up to 80 minutes once lanes reopened just before 08:00 GMT.

Emergency repairs also closed one lane on the northbound carriageway from junction 11A for Dunstable and Luton North to junction 12 for Flitwick.
