Man arrested after van crashes into pub
Dan JessupA man has been arrested after a van crashed into the front of a pub, Sussex Police have said.
Emergency services were called to the Harvester Horse and Groom in Polegate at about 23:00 GMT on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old driver of the van, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
The man, from Maidenhead, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink, failing to co-operate with a preliminary test and assaulting an emergency worker, a police spokesperson added.
He remains in police custody.
In a post on social media, the restaurant said it would be open as usual on Thursday.
