People and dogs rescued after cliff collapses
Newquay coastguard search and rescue teamA number of people were rescued after they became trapped at the top of a cliff that collapsed.
Part of the cliff in King Edward Crescent, Newquay, Cornwall, collapsed at about 14:55 GMT leaving five people and two dogs trapped.
Coastguard teams as well as Devon & Cornwall Police attended the scene and closed the footpath to the public.
Officer said the people were rescued and people should avoid the area for their own safety.
It comes as recent yellow weather warnings and two named storms battered the South West earlier this week and caused disruption.
There are five flood warnings in Devon and two in Cornwall and the Environment Agency said, with the ground already saturated, river levels were expected to stay high for some time.
A yellow rain warning is also in place from 12:00 on Monday to 09:00 on Tuesday.
