Arrest made following gunshots at houses
GoogleA man has been arrested in connection with two incidents of gunshots being fired at properties in the Balby area of Doncaster.
Police arrested a 37-year-old man on 21 April on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, arson with intent to endanger life and attempted murder. He remains in police custody.
The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into two incidents where buildings were damaged from firearms discharges.
The gunshots were fired at separate buildings on Surrey Street on Friday 17 April and Sheppard Road on Sunday 19 April. No one was injured during the incidents.
Det Chief Insp Simon Cartwright from South Yorkshire Police said: "While this arrest is a significant development in our investigation, we are still appealing to our local communities for information.
"Whenever a trigger is pulled and a firearm is discharged, innocent lives are put in danger and it is crucial we continue to work together to root gun crime out of South Yorkshire.
"We know that even the smallest piece of information can sometimes be the key to solving these cases and it is vital that you get in touch."
