Rail travel disrupted after person hit by train
BBCRail services on routes out of Nottingham towards Derby have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train.
National Rail said problems were reported at 07:15 GMT on Friday, with the issue affecting both East Midlands Railway (EMR) and CrossCountry services.
Although initial estimates had the line being closed for several hours, EMR reported it was reopened at about 08:30.
However due to trains and staff being out of place, services to London, Birmingham and Cardiff are likely to be subject to delays and changes for some time.
A spokesperson for EMR said: "The lines have reopened between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway our services can now start to run again.
"However, due to train crew and trains being out of place short notice alterations and delays may still occur. Please check for details."
