Trains between Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton faced disruption until about 13:30 GMT on Thursday

Rail passengers faced delays and cancelled trains after a signalling failure caused several hours of disruption.

All railway lines between Nuneaton and Birmingham New Street have since reopened, after CrossCountry Trains said a fault with the signalling system blocked the route at about 07:15 GMT on Thursday.

Trains scheduled to travel between the two stations were cancelled, revised or delayed.

National Rail said disruption caused by the earlier fault lasted until about 13:30 GMT, with some rail replacement buses in place between Coleshill Parkway and Birmingham New Street and Leicester.
