King Charles III is to visit Lancashire for the second time since he was crowned, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The King is expected to meet farmers, local manufacturers and members of the public when he visits Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley on Monday, before visiting other parts of the county.

In June the monarch, who is also the Duke of Lancaster, visited Lancaster, where he received the keys to the castle in front of the John O'Gaunt gateway as part of an ancient ceremonial tradition.

As the Prince of Wales he visited Clitheroe in 2017, dodging a hailstorm to meet well-wishers and traders at the town's popular food festival.

King Charles visited Burnley in 2011 to see first-hand how his charities had contributed to its regeneration.

The King visited Sandygate Square in the Weavers' Triangle, a derelict area that was renovated by young people from The Princes' Trust, Slaters Terrace, a canalside building and Victoria Mill, which has been restored as part of a technical college.

More details of the royal visit will be announced later.
