Teenage son admits killing his mother
North Wales PoliceAn 18-year-old has admitted murdering his mother, whose body was found on a footpath.
Angela Shellis, 45, from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, was found dead near the town's Morfa nature reserve on 24 October.
Her son, Tristan Roberts, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, and admitted killing her.
No details of the case were given and Judge Rhys Rowlands adjourned for sentencing on 25 March.
Rowlands told Roberts, "there can only be one sentence", but said it would reflect his guilty plea.
Daily PostRoberts, who lived with his mother, was arrested on the same day her body was found and charged with murder.
An inquest into Shellis's death heard the provisional cause of her death was a blunt force head injury.
Shellis was born in Tywyn and worked as teaching assistant at Rhyl High School.
Following her death, her family said in a statement she was a "loved daughter, sister, mum and aunty and will be sadly missed".
