A hotel owner will face trial after denying 10 counts of fraud totalling £150,000.

Sheikh Abid Gulzar and a colleague pleaded not guilty to fraudulently avoiding water bills at hotels in East Sussex.

Gulzar, 80, who is reportedly looking to "dispose of" Hastings Pier, which he currently owns, appeared at Hove Crown Court on Thursday in a private prosecution brought by business retailer Castle Water.

Co-defendant Manasdeep Singh, 34, also entered not guilty pleas, with a three-week trial due to take place in November.
