Man suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

The collision happened on the A19 Doncaster Road in Askern

A motorcyclist has suffered life-changing injuries after being hit by a van in Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to the A19 Doncaster Road in Askern at about 20:15 GMT on Saturday to reports of a collision involving a black Mercedes van and a blue Yamaha motorbike.

The biker, who is 18, was taken to hospital while the van driver remained at the scene and has been assisting officer with their inquiries, a force spokesperson said.

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage of the collision, which happened at the junction with Sutton Road, is asked to contact police.
