One taken to hospital after two-vehicle M1 crash

One person has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the M1 motorway in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police said it was called to reports of the collision between a van and a car on the northbound carriageway near junction 19 at Swinford at 08:45 GMT on Thursday.

The condition of the person in hospital is not yet known, the force added.

National Highways said the carriageway was closed while fire crews removed a person from one of the vehicles, but it has since been reopened.
