Family support charity merges to 'pool experience'
PA MediaA charity that offers advice and support for families has combined its teams in an effort to help more people.
Home-Start in Northampton, and Home-Start for Daventry and South Northamptonshire, have merged to cover the entirety of West Northamptonshire.
The voluntary organisation, which works across the UK, provides support and practical help to parents with young children.
Julia Halliwell, chairwoman of trustees, said: "We are immensely proud to bring a stronger, more sustainable service to West Northants and offer enhanced expanded frontline support."
The service is run by volunteers who are parents themselves.
It also runs a dads' mental health group and Ukrainian family support groups.
Halliwell said: "By coming together, we are able to pool our experience and resources to deliver new and innovative ways of helping more families and the communities we work in, as well as grow our current volunteers, groups and 121 support services.
"It has taken a tremendous effort from all trustees and staff over the past six months to deliver this merger and it couldn't have been done without their support."
