A woman has appeared at crown court charged with murder after a man was found unresponsive in a park.

Gary Grant, 54, was found in Sparrow's Nest Gardens in Lowestoft after Suffolk Police officers were called at about 22:15 GMT on Friday.

The force said he was treated by emergency services but "later declared dead" although a cause of death has not been confirmed.

Amber Stebbings, 28, of no fixed address, is charged with his murder and appeared via video link at Ipswich Crown Court. A plea hearing was set for 20 May and a provisional trial date scheduled for 16 November.

An initial post-mortem examination concluded further investigation into the cause of death was needed, police said.
