A man in his 20s has died after he was stabbed on a street in Manchester.

Police were called to reports of a seriously injured man on Southwick Road in Northern Moor, Wythenshawe, at about 23:35 GMT on Thursday.

Officers said the man died at the scene, and a 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody where he is being questioned.

Forensic tents were put up at the scene and anyone with information is being urged to contact police.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Investigations are ongoing.

"If anyone has any information in relation to this incident, please contact police."
