An annual tulip festival will return to celebrate spring with an array of vibrant colours.

Burnby Hall Gardens, in Pocklington, East Yorkshire, will hold the event from 18 April until 9 May.

The festival, planned by head gardener Jill Ward, has taken months of preparation.

Peter Rogers, assistant estate manager, said: "Every year, thousands of visitors come along to the gardens to enjoy the spectacular variety of colours on display."
