Woman suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

A woman is in hospital after she suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on the A426 in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police said she was a passenger in a black Hyundai i20 that was involved in a crash with a red Peugeot Partner van in Rugby Road (A426), near Cotesbach, on Saturday at 19:50 GMT.

The Peugeot was travelling along Rugby Road from the direction of the A5 towards Lutterworth, and the Hyundai was travelling in the opposite direction when the crash occurred.

The force said the two drivers, both men, were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers have appealed for anyone who saw the crash or who may have dashcam footage to contact the force.
