A pony has been rescued by fire crews after it got stuck in a septic tank.

The animal rescue unit based at Hatfield Fire Station, Hertfordshire, assisted Essex County Fire and Rescue Service in rescuing Geisha, who got trapped in Thaxted.

The 18-year-old was lifted from the hole using rescue equipment alongside a telehandler which was operated by a farmer.

After her ordeal, Geisha was reunited with her foal.
