Ten fire engines attend large blaze at barn
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue ServiceTen fire crews have been sent to the scene of a large fire at a barn in Nottinghamshire, firefighters said.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called at 09:42 GMT on Thursday to a blaze in Peck Lane, Gunthorpe, which had spread to a neighbouring cottage.
The service said 10 fire engines were in attendance, alongside a water carrier and a high-volume pump, and everyone they knew of at the scene had been accounted for.
A spokesperson for the service said: "If you can see or smell smoke then make sure your windows and doors are closed - the smoke plume is travelling fast due to high winds."
Firefighters have advised members of the public to avoid the area while they tackle the blaze.
