A stretch of the A303 has reopened after a four-car crash.

The crash, involving a Vauxhall Mokka, a Ford Puma, a Ford Kuga and a Volvo, happened on the westbound carriageway between the Thruxton Circuit and Salisbury Road junctions on Saturday at about 12:30 BST, police said.

The Vauxhall driver, an 82‑year‑old woman, was taken to hospital with potentially life‑threatening injuries, along with a 78-year-old man with chest injuries. A nine-year-old girl travelling in the Volvo suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed westbound until late on Sunday night while it was resurfaced due to a large fuel and oil spillage. The eastbound carriageway reopened at about 16:00 on Saturday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is urging witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch.
