Caoimhe and James have presented some of the new podcasts at Faithful Companions of Jesus school

Pupils say a podcast they record at their primary school has helped them "learn lots of new things".

Faithful Companions of Jesus school released its first podcast show last month after pupils recorded several episodes at the school's studio.

James, 11, and Caoimhe, 11, are two of the presenters of the podcast and have interviewed a range of guests.

They have interviewed people including Jersey's education minister as well as commercial radio presenter Peter Mac.

A small group sits around a circular studio table with microphones, headphones, and a laptop running audio or video software. A script stand with printed notes is positioned on the table. The room is lined with acoustic foam panels, and plush bee toys hang on the wall in the background.
The school films and records its own podcast episodes

James said: "I think it's important to record podcasts because you find things about people and they're really interesting."

Caoimhe added: "You get a lot of skills, and I think communication and confidence are some of them."

The school has begun sharing some of the episodes on its Facebook page.

Helen sits at a studio desk in front of a microphone, wearing a brown sweatshirt with printed logos and a lanyard. Behind them are black acoustic foam panels and two plush bee toys mounted on the wall. A framed picture hangs above the microphone setup.
Helen Otterwell from Jersey Zoo was impressed by her interviewers

Helen Otterwell from Jersey Zoo was one of the guests on the podcast.

She said: "I love the questions, which were quite hard so I had to really think about some of them."

"Some of the questions were about Jersey Zoo, about the island, what we do in the island but also the best question I liked was what could they do to help."
